Twenty-five years ago, a love story began in high school between a master craftsman and the powerhouse behind the scenes. This year, as we celebrate a quarter-century together, we’re not just looking back on our journey as husband and wife, but also on how we built a family and a business from the ground up.
From High School Sweethearts to Master Craftsmen
Our shared journey began before freshman year of high school, at Countermakers in Medina, OH, the family business owned by David’s stepfather. Working side by side, we didn’t just fall in love—we found our shared passion for custom carpentry, countertops and remodeling. We learned the trade together, supporting each other and honing our skills every step of the way.
As we grew together, so did our family, blessed with three brilliant and beautiful daughters. Balancing family life with our professional dreams has been a journey, but David’s unwavering dedication and meticulous attention to detail have always been the foundation of our success.
Carrying On a Legacy of Excellence
After the passing of David’s stepfather, we made the heartfelt decision to carry on his legacy by rebranding as Mr.Countertops. This was more than a name change; it was a commitment to honor his memory and continue the tradition of excellence he started.
David’s skills have expanded over the years, transforming from a craftsman of custom countertops into an expert in full-scale kitchen and bathroom remodels. From creating stunning butcher block countertops from scratch to handling intricate electrical and tiling work, he brings a master’s touch to every project. But beyond his technical expertise, it’s his integrity and heart that truly set him apart.
It’s a Two-Person Job. Every Time.
When we say we do it all, we mean it. We’re a team, side-by-side, from the moment a project begins until the final detail is perfect.
Just one example is this 250-pound custom solid surface shower panel that David fabricated for a full bathroom remodel in Copley, Ohio. Getting it to the master bath meant navigating a tight staircase. There was no outsourcing, just the two of us.

Our shop, nestled on our little acre farm just outside Medina, is our home base for creativity and precision. It’s where the hard work of building a legacy meets the beautiful chaos of family life, surrounded by our beloved dogs, ducks, chickens, and more.
