Live Edge Bars & Countertops
Raw, organic, and one-of-a-kind. We preserve the natural edge of the tree to create showpiece surfaces for vanities, coffee bars, and accents that bring the outdoors in.
Wood Slabs & Countertops
A custom wood slab is the ultimate “Statement Piece.” Unlike traditional butcher block, a slab preserves the natural grain, character and organic “live edge” of the tree.
Custom Butcher Block Vanities
Custom butcher block vanities designed, fabricated and installed for you by us. Includes removal and disposal of existing vanity and plumbing.
Live Edge Wood & Epoxy Resin Creations
Where nature meets modern art. We fuse live-edge wood slabs with custom-colored epoxy resins to create unique “river” tables and bar tops that serve as functional conversation pieces.
Custom Cabinets
Custom cabinets and built–ins handcrafted in Medina, OH. We build from scratch or install pre-built with custom fronts — in maple, walnut, oak, cherry & exotic woods.
Custom Wood Barn Doors
Unlike mass-produced doors that warp over time, our barn doors are engineered from kiln-dried hardwoods and premium reclaimed timbers. We use traditional joinery and internal structural bracing to ensure your door stays perfectly square, year after year.
- Modern Industrial Slats – Clean, vertical lines using Black Walnut or Rift-Sawn Oak.
- The Artisan “X” & Herringbone – Classic farmhouse charm with a master-craftsman finish.
- Live-Edge “Bookmatched” Doors – The ultimate showpiece. We use two consecutive slabs from the same tree to create a “mirror” effect, preserving the raw organic edge.

Custom Live-Edge Wood Floating Shelves
Professional-grade Solid hardwood shelving—not hollow veneers. Our 2-inch thick shelves are built to handle the weight of real life while adding a clean, modern aesthetic to your space.
Live Edge Wood Mantels
Make your fireplace a focal point. We hand-select massive timber slabs to create architectural mantels that anchor your room with the timeless strength of solid Oak or Walnut.

Answers to our most common questions about Butcher Block Countertops & Artisan Wood Surfaces.
A. ABSOLUTELY! Everything is handcrafted in-house at our Wadsworth workshop — no middlemen, no outsourcing. We mill, plane, joint, glue, finish, and install every surface ourselves. You’re dealing with the craftsmen from the first consultation to the final install.
A. Our standard hardwood library includes Maple, Walnut, Cherry, Oak, and Hickory. Each species has different Janka hardness ratings, grain patterns, and natural tones. Hard Maple is ideal for heavy chopping use, while Black Walnut delivers unmatched richness and depth. We’ll help you choose based on your lifestyle, not just your color palette.
A. We carry a full lineup of imported specialty and exotic hardwoods that you won’t find at any big-box store, including:
- Cocobolo – Deep red-orange with dramatic grain, incredibly dense
- Ebony – One of the hardest and darkest woods on earth
- African Mahogany (Sapele) – Ribbon-stripe grain, warm reddish-brown
- Rosewood – Rich purple-brown tones, naturally oily
- Wenge – Striking dark espresso with tight, linear grain
- Purpleheart – Vivid violet color that deepens with age
- Zebrawood – Bold black striping on pale gold background
- Padauk – Vibrant orange-red, darkens beautifully over time
- Bubinga – Pink-red with a fine, consistent grain
We also do mixed-species builds — hand-selecting boards from multiple species to create a truly one-of-a-kind surface.

A. Great question — they’re all solid wood, but very different products:
Butcher Block – Multiple boards glued edge-grain or end-grain, uniform thickness, great for kitchens and heavy use
Wood Slab – A single cut from a tree, preserving the full natural grain and character of one piece of wood; the ultimate statement piece
Live Edge – Keeps the raw, natural edge of the tree exactly as it grew — organic, one-of-a-kind, and impossible to replicate
Live Edge and Epoxy Resin combines a live-edge slab with custom-colored epoxy to create river tables, bar tops, and countertops where nature meets modern art.
We build all four and will walk you through which fits your space and budget.
A. Pretty much anywhere wood belongs.
- Kitchen countertops and full perimeter layouts
- Kitchen islands (including oversized, multi-level, and end-grain chopping block styles)
- Basement and home bars
- Commercial bars, restaurant tops, and brewery counters
- Breakfast bars and kitchen nooks
- Bathroom vanity tops (with sink cutouts and plumbing)
- Floating shelves
- Fireplace mantels
- Retail display counters
- Barn doors
- Workbenches and utility surfaces
A. Yes — it’s one of our signature builds. We fuse live-edge wood slabs with custom-colored epoxy resin to create “river” tables, bar tops, and countertops. You choose the wood species, the resin color, and the overall shape. No two are alike.
A. We offer a full range of edge profiles including Ogee (classic decorative elegance), Square/Eased (sharp and modern), Beveled (clean 45-degree angle), Roundover/Radius (soft and family-friendly), Live Edge (raw natural tree edge preserved as-is), and fully custom profiles tailored to your design.
A. We offer multiple finish options depending on how you’ll use the surface:
Food-Safe Oil/Wax – Natural look, easy to re-apply, ideal for active cutting and prep surfaces. Requires periodic re-oiling.
Hardwax Oil – Penetrating, matte finish that protects from within; great for kitchens
Polyurethane – Hard, film-forming, highly durable. Best for bars, high-moisture areas, and surfaces that see heavy traffic. Available in matte, satin, and gloss sheens.
Custom Stain + Poly – We can stain to match your cabinetry or design palette before sealing
We’ll help you choose based on how you use the surface — a chopping block and a bar top need completely different protection.
A. Yes, with the right finish and proper installation. We use moisture-locking finishes specifically designed for wet-zone applications, and we can build in a waterfall edge, silicone seal around sink cutouts, or apply additional coats in high-splash zones. Oiled finishes require more diligence around water — poly finishes are better for consistently wet areas.
A. Yes. We use food-safe, non-toxic adhesives and finishes throughout. For active cutting block surfaces, we specify the appropriate oil-based finish. For general countertops that occasionally see food prep, a fully cured polyurethane is equally safe.
A. Beyond shape, species, and finish, we can incorporate:
- Undermount or drop-in sink cutouts
- Cooktop or range cutouts
- Integrated knife block inserts
- Built-in trash can drop-ins
- Charging station cutouts
- Hidden LED under-lighting channels
- Seating overhangs
- Multi-level or waterfall edges
- Curved or radius layouts
A. Butcher block is tougher than most people expect — and it has one advantage stone never will: it’s repairable. Scratches, stains, and minor burns can be sanded out and refinished. You cannot do that with quartz or granite. Properly finished hardwood can last decades with normal care, and exotic species like Cocobolo and Wenge rank harder than many domestic stones on the Janka scale.
A. It depends on your finish:
- Oiled surfaces — Wipe with mild soap and water, dry immediately, and re-oil every few months or when the wood looks dry. We provide oil and instructions.
- Poly-finished surfaces — Wipe with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals and standing water. No special maintenance required beyond keeping it clean.
- All surfaces — Don’t leave wet rags sitting directly on the wood, and use trivets for extremely hot pots.
A. Absolutely — and it’s a specialty. We build for bars, restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, retail stores, churches, and offices across Northeast Ohio. Commercial builds are engineered for heavy traffic and use alcohol-resistant, waterproof finishes rated for commercial environments. We also handle commercial restroom vanities, retail display counters, and wall cladding.
A. Yes to all three. We remove and eco-consciously dispose of your existing countertops, handle all necessary plumbing disconnects and reconnects, and leave your space clean. Everything is included — it’s a full-service install, not drop-off and done.
A. Yes. We offer full restoration services including sanding and resealing, crack and stain repair, re-oiling, refinishing, and size adjustments or full replacements. If your existing top is worn out but the wood is solid, restoration is often a fraction of the cost of replacement.
A. Most projects take 3–8 weeks from consultation to installation, depending on complexity, species availability, and customization. Exotic wood builds may take slightly longer due to sourcing. If you have a hard deadline, let us know at consultation and we’ll work with it.
A. Yes — it’s a core part of how we operate. We use sustainably harvested and reclaimed hardwoods wherever possible, low-VOC finishes and adhesives, and eco-conscious tear-out and disposal practices. Beautiful surfaces and responsible sourcing aren’t mutually exclusive.
A. We serve all of Northeast Ohio — including Medina, Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Wadsworth, Brunswick, Strongsville, Hudson, Wooster, Pepper Pike, Painesville, Westlake, Fairlawn, Stow, Avon, and surrounding communities. We come to you for consultation and handle delivery and installation ourselves.
